Role: Data Engineer
Location: Central London
Salary: £700 a day
CVM People are excited to be working with one of the UK’s most known brands on their search for a Data Engineer to evolve their Data Platform based on open-source and AWS components.
As a Data Engineer you will be reporting into Head of Data Platforms and will work closely with data scientists, data analysts and DevOps engineers to ensure our client receives the solutions they need.
Responsibilities
- Writing production quality code including extensive test coverage
- Designing data systems that will scale to large numbers of users
- Deploy services to staging and production environments
- Work alongside other members of the Data Team on large projects to meet deadlines and requirements set by our stakeholders
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience in working with the following technologies
- o AWS (Redshift, S3, Kinesis, Lambdas especially)
- o Spark
- o Kubernetes
- o Apache Airflow (non-essential)
- Good knowledge of Python and concurrent programming
- Quick learner with eagerness to learn new things and experiment with new technologies
- Passionate to learn Data Science algorithms and produce code to implement them at scale
- Experience of working as a developer in a cross-functional team.
- At least 2 years of experience in the software engineering field, preferably within a data discipline
