Finance Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious small business with blue chip clients and develop the capability of the small finance team.  We are looking for an individual who wants to make a real difference to the company, someone who is as passionate as we are about streamlining processes by utilising the opportunities to automate that cloud technology allows.

The Role:

  • Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded, executed and monitored
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce Management Accounts that really describe the performance of the business
  • Seek out methods for highlighting and minimising financial risk to the company
  • Take responsibility and leadership on the company’s credit control procedures.
  • Manage and report on the company’s cashflow
  • Produce annual budgets
  • Proactively monitor and manage costs and advise the directors of the business on efficiency measures
  • Working with directors to build forecasting models and scenario planning
  • Propose and develop new processes and procedures that will improve efficiency across all finance department tasks

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Previous experience within a similar role using Xero
  • Relevant qualification (part qualified or fully qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Outstanding IT skills including Excel
  • Managed a finance function in a business using invoice discounting
  • Strong communication skills
  • A proactive and hands on approach
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Meticulous organisation skills
  • Experience streamlining and redesigning processes
