Senior Data Engineer
Location: London/Bristol based but remote working 
Salary: £60,000-£70,000
  
CVM people are proud to be partnering with a niche boutique consultancy firm whose core disciplines are centred around customer led innovation covering, marketing and digital technology, customer strategy, multi-channel interactions, and digitally based operations.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer who can act as a technical specialist, building strong and resilient data models to enable the build and deployment of advanced analytics across commercial sectors. This role will work closely with a wider data science team as well as external stakeholders, therefore there is a lot of opportunity to build strong cross-functional working relationships, collaborate and share ideas. Using a range of technology stacks dependent on the client you are working with (Azure, GCP, AWS) this role will gain exposure to a wide range of data sets and environments. All of our clients are large, blue-chip organisations, with the industries ranging from FS, telco, retail and insurance, therefore, this is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Data Engineer to grow their career across multiple commercial sectors as well as learning a variety of new tools!
  
Experience
  

  • Background in computer science / software development or a numerate discipline.
  • Broad experience with a range of programming languages and software platforms to build and deploy data models across commercial sectors (financial, energy, telecoms, retail, pharma).
  • Broad experience developing data models and data job scheduling.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to present to an audience with varied business and technical background
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, R, and SQL, (with exposure to C/C++/C#, Java being a nice to have)
  • Strong Cloud Analytics experience, such as GCP, AWS, Big Query, Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong job scheduling experience.
  • RDBMS such as Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 or Netezza
  • Writing clear and transparent technical documents and data schemas.
